WSU Museum of Art is the largest fine arts facility in the Inland Northwest and operates a program of exhibits changing throughout the year. The museum is located in the Fine Arts Center on the WSU campus. The gallery offers traditional and contemporary art forms from various mediums. Beasley Performing Arts Coliseum has 12,000 seats and is one of the largest performing arts centers in the Inland Northwest. The coliseum also offers a smaller, 2,600 seat theatre. Top-name comedians, rock, jazz, and country western stars, ballet and operatic touring companies, symphonies and solists perform throughout the year. Washington Idaho Symphony, formed in 1971, has developed into a premium orchestra that brings classical and contemporary symphonic music to the Palouse. Participating performers are local residents from eastern Washington and north central Idaho. The season features five concerts, including guest artists and one free children’s concert. Pullman Community Band plays concerts at community events and special occasions throughout the year. Membership is open to all residents of the Palouse, ages 14 and up.
